Hi everyone,

This is a heads up to Sequoia enthusiasts that we will be moving the Sequoia
codeline to SourceForge.net at the end of the month.

As many of you know, Sequoia has been hosted for a number of years on
forge.continuent.org. This site uses an old GForge implementation that has
become increasingly crufty and difficult to maintain. We have therefore
decided to move all of our open source software to SourceForge.net, which is
widely used and reasonably well maintained. Several of our other projects
have already moved and it seems to be going quite well.

Here¹s the overall migration plan:

* The Sequoia CVS repository will move to the SequoiaDB project on
SourceForge.net. I¹m looking at options for moving the entire CVS
repository, but if that does not work we will probably just move Sequoia 4.0
(HEAD) and create a new 2.10 branch from the most current revisions of that
branch.

* We will migrate JIRA and mailman to a new host on Amazon, which we are
setting up now. Our plan is to keep all JIRA records and mail archives
using the same host name(s) as currently. You should not see any change
though there will be a DNS switch at some point next week.

* The old continuent.org wiki at www.continuent.org will be decommissioned.
If you have things you want to save, please grab them now as we are going to
give up the host.

All other active projects will be migrating as well. We will also be
decommissiioning non-active projects such as Carob will be decommissioned.

Appia is referenced on the continuent.org site but has for sometime been
hosted elsewhere.

Finally, we will keep backups of everything for a period of time on S3, so
if it turns out we missed something it should not be too hard to get it
back.

We plan to complete the migration by the end of the month. I will keep the
community apprised of progress. We hope there will not be too many
problems.

Please let me know if you have questions or suggestions or remember
something we need to move that is not covered by this plan.

Cheers, Robert

Appia is also hosted in the SourceForge.net and we are quite happy
with it.

Hi Everyone!

This is an update on moving the Sequoia project to SourceForge as well as
other hosted service updates.

We are proceeding apace with moving services to Amazon; the moves described
below look as if they will happen on MONDAY 30 MARCH. (!)

So far JIRA and mailman moves seem to be going fine. Also, I have
instructions from SourceForge that allegely allow me to move a full
repository up to source Forge. So, I am quite hopeful I will be able to
upload the full code line as we would all like. There's too much history to
lose here.

Quick question for Manu--do you have anything of value on the SequoiaDB
project? I can back up the current contents but my plan is to overwrite the
existing CVS repository with the current codeline.

Finally, I should mention we are going to take copies of all code
repositories over to our new home on Amazon. This will ensure we have live
copies available in case the upload to SourceForge takes longer than
expected.

Cheers, Robert
